Thank you for your support, Linda and Brian!  Please read their story to find out why supporting the JRF is important to them:

As siblings, Linda Belocas and Brian Nihill are honored to be running the 2013 ING New York City Marathon as part of Team Ritter in support of the John Ritter Foundation.  As Brian runs his third marathon (NY-2000, Boston-1999), and Linda runs her first, they will be running together not only to raise awareness of aortic aneurysms and dissections and support research, but also in special memory of their father, Torrey Nihill.  Sadly, on September 11, 1998, Brian and Linda lost their Dad to a brain aneurysm.  Aneurysms can be hereditary, and the JRF provides funding to support research at the John Ritter Research Program in Aortic and Vascular Diseases at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston to identify the genes that predispose to vascular aneurysms and dissections.

In their adult lives, both Linda and Brian continue to lead active, healthy lifestyles to help combat risk factors to aneurysms, like high blood pressure.  Last year, they trained for the NYC Marathon, but Hurricane Sandy had other plans!  They look forward to running this year’s 2013 NYC Marathon together, as a culmination of much training, and in support of a cause very close to their hearts.  As native Bostonians, running in this year’s marathon will allow them to proudly represent their home city.  BOSTON STRONG!

Thank you for your encouragement, donations and support for Linda and Brian on their journey with Team Ritter in the 2013 ING New York City Marathon!  Follow their progress on Facebook:
